TONYA ALLEN
Director of Operations
Tonya Allen is the Director of Operations at Gorby Peters Law. Tonya graduated summa cum laude from Truett-McConnell College with an Associate of Arts. She then received her Associate of Science in Accounting as an Honors graduate from North Georgia Technical College. Tonya received her Accredited Business Accountant Accreditation (ABA) in 2003. From 2003 to 2014, Tonya was the Business Manager in charge of accounting and business management activities at a private non-profit organization, serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in North Georgia. In 2014, Tonya became the Director of the organization and she continued to work as the Director until 2021.
In addition to her accounting and administrative careers, Tonya has also been involved in non-profit organizations that help with food insecurity, the disabled community, and those experiencing poverty. Tonya served on the Fannin County Community Service Conference planning committee for 16 years, which coordinated the annual conference for the non-profit community service organizations in the county. Tonya is a member of the EFSP Board of Fannin County, GA. The Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) aims to help homeless individuals find temporary shelter until permanent homes can be located, ensure any specialized medical needs are taken care of, and ensure that the homeless have access to sources of services, food, and benefits. Tonya also served for six years as a Board Member for SPADD (Service Providers Association for Developmental Disabilities), which is an inclusive association of community-based organizations that support people with disabilities in Georgia. When Tonya has free time, she enjoys being outdoors and is an avid gardener and reader.
