TOM LARKIN
Government Contracting Consultant
Tom is a government contracting consultant for Gorby Peters Law and the lead instructor for the GP Training Division. A 20-year veteran of the United States Army who retired with the rank of Major, Tom Larkin has over 35 years of experience in planning, executing, and administering government contracts in a variety of positions as Contracting Officer and Administrative Contracting Officer. As an Administrative Contracting Officer, he oversaw a $2.1 Billion production contract.
Moving from “practitioner” to educator, Tom became a faculty member as an Assistant Professor of Contracting at the Air Force Institute of Technology instructing Government employees how to perform purchasing functions. He later participated in the startup and development of Defense Acquisition University.
Later in his career, Tom completed 10 years of service with the Georgia Tech Procurement Technical Assistance Center (GTPAC) as an educator and business counselor for over 4,500 Georgia businesses concerning how to navigate the bidding process in providing goods and services to local, State, and Federal Agencies or municipalities. Businesses receiving this assistance received as a Prime Vendor or Subcontractor over $550M in contract awards.
In Tom’s free time he enjoys backyard barbecues on his Big Green Egg and spending time with his family, including four very active grandchildren.
